How can I register?
To apply to The Negotiation Challenge, please use the online registration form on our website.
How much does it cost to attend?
To cover the cost of organizing the competition and to finance the involvement of high-caliber judges, TNC charges all participating teams a non-refundable registration fee of 500 Euro. Financial assistance is available to participants with financial hardship. Please contact us for further details.
Generally, during the competition meals are provided with no additional charge to participants
The accommodation and travel expenses must be covered by participants or their companies/organizations.
When do I need to arrive?
The first negotiation rounds are typically conducted online prior to the main event. The best teams from the qualification rounds will be invited to the final rounds, during which the teams will negotiate face-to-face. If you are among the invited participants and receive an invitation to participate in the final round, we advise that you arrive at least a day before the competition.
No travel is necessary during an online competition.
What kind of visa do I need and how can I get it?
Each participant is responsible for obtaining his own visa. We can provide with you an official confirmation of participation, if needed for your visa application.
Wo can participate in TNC?
TNC is open to all business professionals and lawyers, who can demonstrate the knowledge of and experience in negotiations that allow them to compete on the highest levels.
How will the winner be selected?
Typically, The Negotiation Challenge consists of 3 qualification rounds. The qualification rounds are typically conducted remotely (on the phone, per email, chat, Zoom, Skype, etc.).
The scoring mechanism and the communication mode for each round is announced during the briefing before the round. The participants need to demonstrate the whole spectrum of their negotiation skills in various types of negotiations based on a diversified set of simulations.
The best teams from the qualification rounds will advance to the final event. The finalists typically negotiate 3 additional face-to-face rounds. During some of the rounds, the teams will be evaluated by negotiation experts.
The team with the highest number of points after all rounds will become an unofficial World Champion in Negotiation.
In exceptional cases, the organizers might change the number of rounds and conduct the whole competition online.
Is overnight accommodation available?
No travel is necessary during the qualification rounds. The travel and accommodation costs will have to be covered by the participants or their sending institutions.
What is the dress code during the competition?
The dress code is business casual during the qualification rounds and business formal during the gala dinner.
How do I get to the venues?
You are responsible to arrive at the right locations at the right time. We will provide you with the necessary information about the locations beforehand. If needed, the organizers will provide you with the necessary guidance. Please make sure you contact us in advance.
